Nashville Invisalign
An aligned smile can be achieved faster and more conveniently than you think! Most people have heard of Invisalign, who pioneered invisible braces with clear plastic aligners in the late 1990s. ClearCorrect is more recent technology that accomplishes the same thing with a couple of advantages.
How is ClearCorrect Like Invisalign?
Like Invisalign, the ClearCorrect system consists of a series of custom-designed aligners that bring your smile closer to its fully aligned state every two weeks. The entire process lasts between 6 and 16 months, making ClearCorrect twice as fast as traditional braces! As the name suggests, ClearCorrect aligners are transparent and functionally invisible. This means that no one standing a comfortable distance from you will even know you’re wearing them! And because they are not adhered to your teeth like metal braces are, these aligners can be removed at mealtimes. This way, you don’t have to modify your diet, and you can easily keep your teeth clean and free of the unsightly white spots they’d be prone to acquiring with braces getting in the way of diligent brushing.
Why Choose ClearCorrect Over Invisalign?
Invisalign is popular with dentists who have little expertise with orthodontics. ClearCorrect, however, is popular with orthodontists and dentists who have had more training in orthodontics. ClearCorrect gives the dentist a little more flexibility to your treatment. This allows Dr. Wickness to provide the responsive, customized care necessary to ensure the highest quality results. If unexpected issues come up during treatment, ClearCorrect gives Dr. Wickness more latitude for making changes.
ClearCorrect laboratory fees are also a little lower than Invisalign, giving you some cost advantage. The aligners are also a little thinner than Invisalign’s, and there are reports that they are more stain resistant.
Will ClearCorrect Work for Me?
As long as you leave your ClearCorrect aligner in your mouth as Dr. Wickness instructs you, it will go to work moving your teeth into its next position, and after each two-week period, your next aligner will do the same. The only way to interfere with this process would be to not wear your aligners as directed.
In cases where alignment issues are severe, ClearCorrect would not be the ideal solution. At your initial appointment, Dr. Wickness will let you know if you are a good candidate for ClearCorrect treatment.
How to Get Started
To find out if ClearCorrect is right for you, Dr. Wickness will see you for a dental exam during which x-rays will be taken. If this form of orthodontic treatment is appropriate for your situation, digital impressions will also be taken so that Dr. Wickness can custom-design your aligners to ensure a snug and proper fit for each one at its prescribed time of use.
