Meet the Team
David Wickness, DMD
Dr. David P. Wickness was born and raised in Peoria, Illinois. He attended Indiana University, graduating in 1997 with a bachelors degree in biology. He then attended Southern Illinois University School of Dental Medicine, graduating in 2001.
Since graduation, Dr. Wickness has completed over 500 hours of continuing education with an emphasis on complex restorative, cosmetic, and implant dentistry. The majority of these hours were completed at the Dawson Center for advanced dental study in St. Petersburg, Florida and the Center for Esthetic Excellence in Chicago, Illinois. Dr. Wickness is a member of the American Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry, American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, Tennessee Dental Association, and the Nashville Dental Society.
Dr. Wickness and his wife Rachel have three daughters, Marissa, Ava and Lennon.
Jordan is a New Orleans native who now proudly calls Nashville her home. A graduate from Remington College, she has worked in dentistry for 10 years, first as a registered dental assistant and now as a hygienist. She’s been with Dr. Wickness since January, 2015. Aside from meeting and marrying her husband, Tad, getting into dentistry is the best thing that has ever happened to her.
As much as she loves coming to work each and every day, Jordan’s biggest passions are her home, being a good wife to Tad, and a good doggie-mom to her six-year-old Great Dane, Hagrid. When she’s not at work, she loves her church, spending time outdoors with her family, and reading.
Mary came to Music City by way of Omro, Wisconsin, a small town about 10 miles from Oshkosh. She currently lives in Hendersonville. She graduated from Nashville State Technical Institute as a registered dental assistant with certifications in nitrous oxide monitoring, x-ray technology, and coronal polishing. She has worked as dental assistant since 2000, joining our practice in 2003. Her favorite thing about her job is seeing the end result of her work and taking care of her patients.
Outside of the office, Mary spends most of her time with her son, Gavin. She loves to go for walks and come up with new recipes in the kitchen.
Originally from Erie, Pennsylvania, Ann has spent most of her professional life here in Tennessee. She graduated from Tennessee State University and Meharry Medical School with her associate degree in dental hygiene in 1995; she went on to receive her bachelors in dental hygiene from TSU in 1997. Her dental career, however, began much earlier. She previously worked as an orthodontic assistant, office manager and general dental assistant starting in 1978. She came to work for our practice back in July of 1998.
Ann finds her work extremely rewarding. “Knowing that I make a difference in my patients’ lives and their health, and when they thank me just for doing my job – that’s what drives me.” She loves to stay active; her hobbies include gardening, antiquing, football and swimming.
Ann is passionate about helping animals and making a positive difference in her community. She currently serves as a foster mom for Hip Donelson Lost and Found Pets, and Lost and Found Pets of Hermitage, TN; she is also a member of Hermitage Helping Hands and volunteers for Dogingham Palace. She is a proud guardian of one German Shepard mix, Millie, and four cats, Reggie, Sidney, Bailey, and Max – all rescue pets!
Valerie is a longtime native of the Nashville area. Before going into dentistry, Valerie served her country in the U.S. Army National Guard for 10 years, becoming 2nd Lieutenant and a graduate of the Officer Candidate School. She went on to achieve her degree in dental hygiene from Western Kentucky University. While working as a hygienist, Valerie also earned a degree as a registered nurse at Tennessee State University.
Although the majority of her career has been in dentistry, the skills she obtained as a nurse has helped her provide comprehensive care to her dental hygiene patients. Valerie has been a registered dental hygienist for 32 years, the last 15 years with our practice.
The most rewarding thing to Valerie about her work with Dr. Wickness is getting to educate patients about the importance of oral health in their overall wellness. She and her husband of more than 25 years, Donald, have three children and two grandchildren. She enjoys spending time with her family and staying active with Jazzercise, jogging, taking long walks in the park with friends, sewing and machine embroidery. She serves on the TennCare Advisory Committee.
Born and raised in Havana, Cuba, Lilia has spent most of her life living and working outside of the United States. She graduated from Havana Cuba University in 1976 and began practicing as a general dentist, eventually becoming a specialist in oral surgery and periodontics. She practiced oral surgery first in Havana and then in Zimbabwe, eventually moving back to Cuba to conduct research in periodontics and immunology for the National Institute of Dental Research. Lilia ultimately made her way to Tennessee, graduating from Tennessee State University in 2003 as a registered dental hygienist. She currently lives with her family in Brentwood and has worked with us as a dental hygienist for the last 10 years.
Lilia’s greatest joy in dentistry stems from helping patients love themselves by forming healthy habits in oral care, and she absolutely loves being a part of a passionate dental team. Aside from work, she enjoys playing the piano and listening to classical music. A dedicated Christian, she teaches an Hispanic class at Brentwood Baptist Church.
